ASTRASTEN S.F. D.E.P SOLVENT INK RESISTANT FILM STENCIL
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Astrasten is supported by a .003” polyester backing film. It may be necessary to adjust the plotter blade depth to avoid damage to the blade.
- After cutting, peel away edges of the image to reveal open printing area.
- Degrease mesh using an appropriate water missable agent or paste.
- Place the cut stencil on a raised flat surface to ensure good contact with the mesh.
- Apply DEP screen activator by means of a linen cloth. It is recommended that a dabbing action is used to avoid scumming.
- A colour change is apparent as the capillary action draws the film into the mesh.
- Blott stencil using newsprint by applying pressure with roller or pad.
- Dry using a warm air blower or fan.
- Peel away polyester backing film. If resistance is felt, further drying will not harm the stencil.
- To remove stencil, simply rinse with water until blue film falls away from the mesh. Discard residue in waste bin.
